Planned Drainage Works – B3130

B&NES have advised the PC that there are upcoming drainage works on the B3130 Stanton Road, specifically, in the Belluton Narrows where the road will be closed to all through traffic.

Work is programmed to start 7th April 2026, and is scheduled for up to 3 weeks.

Reason for the works: There is a culvert beneath the carriageway which has been surveyed, and it is deemed necessary to replace.

B&NES realise this will be an inconvenience, but given the restricted working space have no other option than to close the road. It is anticipated that this will be a complex set of works due to the number of utility services in the highway at this location.

A signed diversion will be in place, advance warning signs will be put on the road 2 weeks prior to work starting, and local residents will receive a letter shortly.

The aim of this work is to replace the culvert through the narrow section. The outcome will not immediately resolve the drainage issues through here, but it means that B&NES will be able to return to undertake future works under a less disruptive form of traffic management.

Please contact B&NES Senior Drainage Engineer, Simon Morrissey, as soon as possible if there is any further information needed regarding the work:
